Most countries are searchin other commercial partners than the US and China is the best alternative, also for the EU. Apart with now Mercosur and the EU, which is the biggest commercial trade community in the world, the US will get very, very alone in the world, because stupidity. The US need the world, but the world don’t need the US. Only sorry for the US citizen, I hope they act corresponding to this, cleaning up the goverment.
The big problem that the EU has right now is energy supply being nearly entirely dependent on the US at this point. It doesn’t look like normalizing relations with Russia is possible, and switching to renewables will take years. So, in the short term the US can hold LNG supply like the sword of Damocles over Europe.
I hope for Canada’s sake that if Trump kidnaps Carney he takes Poilievre too.
