Reminds me of how, at work, they relaxed the office space with open office space with spartan uncomfortable furniture, priclaiming that it was not about cost savings, but it’s what college students want now. Our college Interns were pissed that they would lay that bullshit at their feet

I for one enjoyed the uncomfortable couches and awkward tables. it gave me plenty of places to work throughout the day where nobody could know where I was at any given moment.

I would change places after every useless meeting and nobody could find me.

my favorite place was on the second floor in a “peace” room. I’d sit in there with the lights off for half a day. even took a nap one day 🤣.

Older Gen Z which are essentially baby Millennials, debatable. From what I hear, college today has become a hellscape.

Teens & preteens (Gen Alpha), totally different story. AI slop is cringe. Eww. Possibly appreciated for its entertainment value, especially in directed roleplay (aka Character.ai), but never as “art”.

The kids are alright. And this Jacob dude’s full of it.

As a current college CS student, idk about art but all my classmates openly use chatgpt for math and programming assignments.

You are also kinda considered stupid/naive if you don’t use it even worse.

On the good side my friends did just recently start complaining about AI interviews.

I’m scared for what the future has in store for me once I actually start working towards a CS major… 😬

The most often heard reason from old people I hear is that it will finally force those “artist parasites” to do “real jobs”.

Well I have been trying to teach kids why AI is bad but the force is strong with their peers. They have been getting it but seem to still stray into the AI.

Hello Gen Z here no the fuck I don’t. I do ultimately think AI has some tiny modicum of value but absolutely is not worth the cost. Also fuck AI generated content specifically I could rant about that for ages. Also I really despise AI for making search engines worse. It now takes me multiple searches to find what I actually want and sometimes I have to prompt an llm just to find an article that’s helpful. Hell Reddit is the only useful place and that’s a hellscape of bots, nuked comments because of api protests and power hungry mods. So no I don’t like AI particularly much at all but especially not generative content.

From what I see yeah they do. They(generally) might say they dont but they watch ai generated videos, ai generated thumbnails, ai generated ads, ai content creators all without complaint or change in behaviour. Instagram reels and tiktok is full of AI shit.
