Don’t buy Nvidia. It’ll be a pain in the ass, especially if you use something like Debian testing where kernel is updated quite frequently.
AMD would be a good choice.

Well, it doesn’t mean anything. They want to drop support for CPUs that lack some capabilities. So which CPUs will stay supported and which not depends on the presence of the needed command set in the CPU.

Can’t you just run any release through a normally installed version of wine?
In most cases – no. Wine is far from being a reliable tool. Many programs demand this or that patch for Wine to work. And you surely don’t want to tinker with that.
And if you know where to search, there is a Wine repack for Linux. I tested it on Debian testing – works.
You should search and subscribe to the relevant communities. “All” section is, of course, just a pile of unsorted craziness.
Please whistle if you find something like that and not completely dead empty. I prefer to ban people I don’t like by myself according to my own ideas of what is right and what is wrong.
