pretty interesting that garp ends up getting away with this. i like the theory i’ve seen that domi reversi only works on the island you were born on. really enjoyed this chapter.

Yeah some awesome hinting this chapter, I feel like it’ll be a while until we learn about the details of the promise.

If that’s true it’s a huge nerf, but there has to be some weakness or draw back. Unless it’s literally Luffy just needs to play Othello and reverse back.

I feel like it has to be because then it fixes the plot hole of why doesn’t imu just domi reversi everyone in the world and create a world completely filled with willing and controlled slaves.

I mean even if that’s the drawback that plan would still mostly work since outside of pirates and marines most of the people in the world stay on their own island I feel like.

There have to be more restrictions on how it works or that it’s incredibly taxing to use even a bit otherwise you’d just spam it.

Imu being able to possess people definitely makes him a threat, but I think that on God Valley they must have figured out a counter at least to the regeneration ability.

Yeah, but the idea of Garp and Roger killing Rocks in order to save his family is definitely a very poetic moment. Especially considering that Blackbeard grows up to capture Garp and hold him hostage to extort the world government.

Even if Garp punched imu in the face, I’m still suspicious of that cop.

Also, I really like the idea of imus powers only working on people in their homelands because it ties thematically with the idea of pirates leaving their homeland in order to gain wealth and power.

Imu wants to flood the world so that he can trap and isolate more people. This would make his powers even more potent. But since Roger started the Great Age of Piracy, Imu’s grasp on the world is being challenged.

Also the rocks pirates all backstabbing each other is exactly the type of lesson that Oda would give. No matter how many strong people you have on one crew, if they don’t love each other as a family, then they won’t last against existential threats.

In any case, another banger chapter and I’m so excited for the next one. We’re probably either going to see Rocks death or the actual truth to what Sengoku was saying about God Valley.

Also, that means that at least Kaido, Big Mom, Whitebeard, all three of the last generation of Yonkos know about “imu” or at least know that a being like “imu” exists and is unkillable.

But if you think about it, that makes sense. Big Mom’s territory isn’t her home, Kaido’s territory definitely isn’t his home, and Whitebeard never visited his home again and only sent money from his crew to it.

Shanks also doesn’t have a home because it was presumably destroyed after the God Valley incident. And since Blackbeard was born on Lulisia, he also can’t be taken over. So I’m really thinking that the power is based on a person’s homeland.
