This political violence is not a series of isolated incidents and does not emerge organically.

Arguing against the engine of history folks, let’s see how that works out.

Also, this is just the inverse of what Democrats have been talking about since Obama. Obama DOJ was supposed to start cracking down on domestic (white nationalist) terrorism and do RICO and all that stuff. It got pushed to the side as he let these people do an armed takeover of federal land and hold it. Then Trump started dismantling what measures did exist during his first term. Biden didn’t do shit and instead pushed to also go after antifa. Now Trump can continue the work and do all this stuff but for “the left.” All those years of podcasters and authors writing books about dark pools and influence campaigns just went down the drain. None of that will ever be touched again, at least not for a couple of decades. Now the center of the conversation will be DNC fundraising and spending going into mid-terms and 2028. A third Trump term is becoming more likely.

There is no organized left in the US to disrupt, so I’m curious who the target is going to end up being. I guess its anyone deemed “anti-fascist” for whatever reason. So what, is this intending to give cops free reign to attack whoever by claiming they were terrorists? Is that different than what is already the case?

Is it a go ahead to start cracking heads if they see anarchists passing out flyers?

They’re definitely targetting the anti-ICE and anti-Israel protests. Many of the anti-ICE protests were organized by PSL.

There’s a line that Trump keeps saying that the anti-ICE protestors all have matching printed signs and that this is evidence that they are being payed to protests. This is likely referring to PSL protestors having matching PSL signs. Lib protestors all have non-matching harry potter back-to-brunch written with marker protest signs.

They might target the No Kings protestors as well. Trump says that Jasmine Crockett is a Radical Leftist. There is no limit on who gets targeted.

Liberal billionaires, liberal NGOs, liberal charities (remember Trump got his charity taken away by NY libs), and DNC funding. Those will be the targets. Maybe they can catch DSA through Mamdani. Maybe PSL.

The call for Lutnick to investigate and restrict the finances of these groups is pulling directly from some crank congresspeople who sent Lutnick a letter last week to investigate PSL, PYM, Codepink, the People’s Forum, Breakthrough News, etc using these same tactics. That’s the organized left being targeted here.

think about this: the Abundance libs are basically libertarians. they want to get rid of the “groups”. trump is going to go after these “groups”. the neolib/libertarians will be pleased and help

this solves the dems problem too. the tech right is already pivoting to the dems. any future cultural civil war will be between christian nationalists (maga) and the tech right (abundance, thiel, etc).

our two choices will be Yarvinists salivating at the thought of turning our bodies into diesel fuel and christian nationalists who want to turn the entire U.S. (except their tiny enclaves) into Gaza

my two cents is ultimately the christian nationalists are likely the ones going to win, if not pyrrhic. So much of the U.S is brain-washed Christian propaganda down to the very foundations of it’s creation.

You can only appeal to and give zealots power for so long until they demand everything.

i think the same. or the Yarvinists may hold onto some network states/cities on the coasts (cali, around D.C., etc) and just make a truce if it actually went to a hot war.

basically how effective AI in warfare becomes determines whether the tech right can hold their own. or if they can get their surveillance tech up enough to continuously weaken christian nationalists by neutralizing leadership and disrupting their ability to organize. but in the end it’s a numbers game and you are right.

unfortunately non-religious types may be driven into the arms of the tech right for protection because the christian nationalists are truly barbaric in what they want to do

Nah, things like the Palestinian protests, the encampments in the universities, the push back against ICE in places like LA, those have all been spear headed by the organized left in this country. They’re small, but they exist, and they’ve been growing as the Dems let people down and the number of crises continue to exist. Which means they need to be stomped out so no one can join them as they ramp up the fascism and liberalism let’s people down.

The interesting thing to see is if it will actually work. In my experience, any chilling effect is nullified by the fact that we were correct and the libs that care are not trained to ever shut the hell up about anything. It will take a serious, dedicated, crackdown to actually stomp out these kinds of radicalized libs from joining these organizations, if anything this gives them more national prominence than they ever had before.

That said, these people also are not trained cadres, and likely just add more chaos into the mix, plus fed infiltration. Curse of interesting times indeed.

At least the Dems are proving their fecklessness at every turn here.

    (k) All Federal law enforcement agencies with investigative authority shall question and interrogate, within all lawful authorities, individuals engaged in political violence or lawlessness regarding the entity or individual organizing such actions and any related financial sponsorship of those actions prior to adjudication or initiation of a plea agreement. Investigations should prioritize crimes such as the following: assaulting Federal officers or employees or otherwise engaging in conduct proscribed by 18 U.S.C. 111; conspiracy against rights under 18 U.S.C. 241; conspiracy to commit offense under 18 U.S.C. 371; solicitation to commit a crime of violence under 18 U.S.C. 373; money laundering under 18 U.S.C. 1956; funding of terrorist acts or otherwise facilitating terrorism under 18 U.S.C. 2339, 2339A, 2339B, 2339C, and 2339D; arson offenses under 18 U.S.C. 844; violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (18 U.S.C. 1961 et seq.); and major fraud against the United States under 18 U.S.C. 1031.

This is pretty specifically targeted at orgs actively calling for and advocating for violence.

They’re chasing ghosts that don’t exist. This is all incredibly performative, there are no orgs or ngos to go after for any of this.

I think they’re just doing performance for the sake of appeasing the base.

Protests where someone knocks over a trashcan is violence. Vocal support of those protests is support for violence. It doesn’t have to lead to a conviction that’s widely accepted by the courts as valid. It just has to let the feds get their foot in the door for an investigation. Then they can open an org’s books and scrutinize funding or the way money is spent. They can tie together different groups with RICO. If a person donates $1,000 to PSL and $20,000 to the DNC, those groups are connected by the donor. If PSL spends money sending people to a “violent” protest, then PSL is implicated. The donor and the DNC are implicated by association. The feds get to investigate those people.

This allows conservatives, who own the executive, to investigate their political rivals. They can collect data (data is everything) and get an idea of how funding is moving around the country. Then they can cut off funding by freezing accounts during the investigation. Now their political enemy can’t fund anything right when they need money the most. Imagine cutting off 30% of the DNC fundraising spigot for months at a time right before an election. Imagine being able to defund the entirety of PSL or the DSA.

They don’t have to arrest and execute their political enemies. They just need enough info to know where to hurt them and the excuse of law enforcement. I wouldn’t look at this and try to piece together how it allows them to imprison or kill all leftists. To me it’s more of a Gilded Age tactic of sabotage.

Yep it’s just sanctions tactics turned inwards.

There’s no dramatic images of dozens of people being marched off to black sites never to be seen again. There’s no court drama because the government has long had assumed great latitudes in controlling money, doing interdiction on it, and forcing the injured parties to positively prove otherwise in courts in long, expensive, boring, hard, up-hill processes.

But it’s a chilling effect just the same. And it clogs the gears of the opposition, it makes the lives of the leadership hard when say they can’t access banking services because their risk profile is too high or else it’s illegal because of these restrictions on them. It puts a price on associating with these groups by leading to contamination and tainting of your own group so others tend to avoid touching or helping or interacting (again sanctions tactics, classic).

Bitcoin will not help you. Half of the reason places like Coinbase are allowed to operate us because they regularly turn over their transaction data to the government when asked to. On top of that, Bitcoin is literally a ledger of transactions. All it takes is one person not using a secure transaction and the whole thing is open to scrutiny and can be dug into.

I think this is an important bit when tied to the antifa designation. They’ll claim any protest they don’t like was an antifa organized event and then go after any organizations that helped fund the protest.

“lawlessness” and “conspiracy to commit offense” suggest that it can also be used to attack orgs with members who break the law in a non-violent manner, which is frequent in serious protests, doesn’t it?
