small feet
Fuck off, vile jezebel.
I’ve seen several dating profiles where they express their racial preferences so not much has changed here.
“can dance all night”
She DTF.
No French, Italians, Spaniards or Hebrews need apply.
It’s jarring not because racism is gone, but because of how blatant it used to be.
In my opinion, it’s perfectly fine to have a preference for age, weight, height, facial features, personality, income, religion, intelligence, humor, etc. Racism is ignoring all of that and rejecting someone before you know a single thing about them just because of their ethnicity.
I’ve seen that stuff on dating apps. Usually either excluding black or looking for black specifically.
Damn still screwed! Mid sized feet, not a nobleman, and am “Italian” American.
I thought the last sentence was describing her, not what she’s looking for.
Did you see this, Asafum??? You still got a chance!!!
Oh hell yeah, she doesn’t care about my normal sized feet!
Now I just need to do something about the nobleman and Italian part… I’ll think of something! Small foot dancing lady here I come!
I think tagging people like @[email protected] gets a notification over to their Lemmy inbox, FYI.
I do know, but just keep forgetting the format. Thanks for tagging them, they replied!
Oh, what Lemmy app are you using? I use Summit which auto-formats the moment you type
and then the start of their username. It’s really handy!
Well I am not even mentioned on the list so you might have better chances then me.
She could have said “no darkies, even if you are European”. Then again, French certainly doesn’t count. 🤷🏻
Nothing wrong with having a skin tone preference, but I think it’s dumb to put it in a dating profile. One, you’ll turn people off thinking you’re a racist even if you’re not. Two, you never know. I’ve always dated super pale girls. Ended up with a dark Filipino. Who knows?
I wonder if this worked for her. Surely there’s a record somewhere.
According to a comment by editorgrrl in this r/TheWayWeWere reddit post, it is a joke.
Life magazine (sometimes called “old Life”) was a parody published by graduates of the Harvard Lampoon.

Another version they gave:
Likely if you care to search local archives that are probably not online.
There are plenty of people who did find someone via newspaper ads. Though I don’t think it was ever common.
I just want the drama, not to do the work to find it.
Can “dance” all night…
