Last week’s federal court decision forbidding the Trump administration from punishing the AP for refusing to rename the Gulf of Mexico was to take effect Monday. The administration is appealing the decision and arguing with the news outlet over whether it needs to change anything until those appeals are exhausted.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. circuit set a Thursday hearing on Trump’s request that any changes be delayed while case is reviewed. The AP is fighting for more access as soon as possible.

Yup, America officially becomes fascist. The executive simply doesn’t respect the judicial branch anymore.

Mark my words, Trump will not let go gently come 2029.

That’s the most depressing thing I’ve read for a long time. Even in the best case scenario we’re stuck with this bullshit until twenty twenty fucking nine!!

i know they wouldn’t be getting a conviction, but the dems seriously have to be bringing up impeachment if they want any political future for themselves, and they need to be doing it frequently

Please, just let the Dems die off and become the neoliberal republicans they’ve always aspired to be.

We need a new party that is actually left of center to even begin repairing this level of damage to the republic.

Dems. Ain’t. It. Too old, too corrupt, and F tier political messaging.

Wasn’t this guy impeached last time he was in office? The American people have spoken and we have chosen a dipshit to run the country because most people who voted for him believed that he would hurt the people who are taking advantage of them.

Don’t undersell it. This convicted felon was impeached twice and found liable for rape before we elected him again!

USA! USA! US- Hey! I’m a citizen, you can’t deport me!!!

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can’t be deported just because you’re a citizen. Deport first, due process later.

Impeachment is a circus act now. I’d rather they spent thier energy actually doing something useful.

The thing we’re all thinking of but can’t say because truly free speech doesn’t exist.

Maybe take some police and the court order / decision to the event and force your way in. Then, hold the highest ranking host of the event who is NOT Trump, in contempt and throw them in a shitty jail for a week.

Plenty of presidents have defied court orders. The type of order matters greatly. Defying injunctions is only contempt of court. This was a ruling, as was the return of Garcia. These are defining of a constitutional crisis.

Whether they are appealing or not, this sounds like the administration is breaking the law. The ruling to allow AP doesn’t stop taking effect if an appeal is in process.

The Trump Administration keeps abusing that. They appeal something, and just do whatever they want until the appeal is processed.

Its not. This is the breakdown of social agreements that have been long standing. Unless something is done to enforce these orders, we’ve effectively lost the rule of law, and things will get bad fast.

Yet more evidence that it doesn’t actually matter in the eyes of the Trump administration what the law says, or what a judge says, if there is nothing behind it to physically make them follow it or face actual consequences.

So you’ll be taking trump to task now AP, and not just running soft interference for him, working on normalizing him and supporting all his fascist enablers?

Yeah, didn’t think so. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out AP.

The media and the Democrats, and probably many Americans, still seem to think that if you keep pointing out how things are wrong, illegal, and against the rules, sooner or later a system will kick in to stop them. They haven’t yet adjusted to the reality of a fascist government. There is no longer freedom of speech or rule of law in the USA. There are no longer human rights. Your life can be ruined at any moment on the whim of the leader or his enforcers.
