Not surprised, it’s kind of like first world feminism bleeding into terf shit, animal welfare groups putting the dog above the human. It’s sad because you can want animal liberation while also looking out for people too, but I guess they missed the memo.

I’m generally distrustful already, but I’m especially distrustful of White people who claim to be big ‘animal lovers’.

I had an ex who visited my home country with me. Some areas are dirty and very poor, lots of people working, walking, and kids begging for money. She was fine with all of it until she saw some puppies in the street, then she cried and became critical of how unsafe it was for puppies to be in that environment. Accused my family and I about being heartless because we didn’t mind the dogs. Oh, but fuck the kids, right? Needless to say, it didn’t go over well.

It amazes me sometimes how normalized it is in the minds of white people to see human beings as sub-human and not worthy of their empathy. Like I’ve had white people get mad at me for saying that I care about people in the global south. Or even just for bringing up their suffering. They’ll be like, “Well what do you want me to do about it??” Uh idk maybe not dismiss it? Maybe give a shit? Is that so hard to do?

Some months ago I went to Buenos Aires, we were chilling in a square with many dogs and their owners, one guy turned out to be an Israeli who had “rescued this dog from the war”…

Heh, yea, but the explanation is the jewish diaspora here is one of the biggest since the 1890, mostly eastern europeans. Sadly most of it is zionist IIRC.

Also, among all the assasinated by the last dictatorship jewish people were way overrepresented, and it was probably THE most number of jews assasinated by a government (wars included) after 1945 but Isntreal never said anything about it IIRC.

Anyways, Buenos Aires has a lot of ultraorthodox dudes that wear those funny furry hats

So your from down in that area? Ever been to Uruguay? In my search for areas to flee to from the US it is decently high up on the list. Kind of like my fallback if i can’t get into an AES nation. From what I’ve seen it seems pretty demsoc but atleast stable, and not too likely to go full fash anytime soon from what i was seeing. But it’s hard to know how much of what is available online is accurate.

Uruguay is a financial cancer to the rest of the region, like Andorra for example, by giving citizenship to any rich dipshit who actually parasites on workers in Argentina or Brasil but they get to pay very low taxes in Uruguay. They should do something about it or be annexed.

That said, it’s a nice place, it’s indistinguishable from many provinces of Argentina but they have different money and low inflation. And yeah they are the most progressive place in the region right now. Oh and their beaches are nice too.

Ah yeah i figured there must be something like that i wasnt hearing about. It seemed too weak to be so peaceful without some sort of international backing. So it being backed by elites globally as a tax haven makes sense.

I’m guessing that stability it enjoys wouldn’t last long then in a global crisis.

These kinds of misanthropic liberals don’t deserve to consume feel-good-bittersweet stories about animals surviving hardship

Send them the dozens of videos of animals in Gaza with their limbs snapped off by IOF bombs, that’s all these fuckers deserve to witness

  • I think it’s unexamined ideology. there’s a project to indoctrinate us to not have empathy for humans in distress, to see their circumstances, generally, as a product of their choices.

there is something similar at work for animals, but it’s less acute and relies a lot on “out of sight, out of mind” and speciesism. animals in the built environment are pretty tightly controlled in the US. shit, imagine the amount of effort it would take to overcome the outcry over the number of loose, feral dogs getting blasted by cars we would have to see here.

guarantee most people who wanted to save this dog and ignores the human passively assumed this guy could “take care of himself” in a way they felt the dog could not.

Yup. It’s rationalized (if at all) as “this person is in this situation because of their choices and they can choose something else” vs “this poor dog didn’t choose to be here we need to rescue it”

Dog people are some of the worst psychopaths JFC. I don’t get how you can love dogs, but then have nothing but contempt for cats, humans (especially children), and non-mammals. What causes this? It’s probably sadists are drawn to dogs over other living things, right?

It’s a distinctly reactionary angle, because these are also people who do not actually respect their dogs

They like their dogs, but their dogs are their property

This is why they have such contempt about other animals, because they view them as invaders or detritus

because dogs are obedient, humans cats and other animals don’t take a few treats and pets to become subservient, a dog is so domesticated it isn’t an animal anymore, it’s a tool, an animal bred and trained for the sole purpose of being a police dog doesn’t have choice and doesn’t say no. I haven’t slept in a while and I don’t know if I’m saying nonsense but dogs are the last socially acceptable minions, I’ve noticed that the moment westerners stopped making it socially acceptable to make their kids minions they had a decline in wanting to have kids.

Would this happen to be at the same time that the cost of everything, especially raising kids, began to skyrocket while wages stagnated/fell? That really would be some coincidence

All good friend. I don’t completely disagree anyway, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head here when it comes to conservatives specifically. These are the people constantly whining about falling (white) birth rates and yet they view/treat their children as property. The same people that kick their own children out on the street if they find out the kid is gay. And of course theyre removing any and all economic support for actually raising children.

And there’s 10s of millions of these people in the US alone

I don’t hate or dislike dogs. And there’s a bazillion dog owners who aren’t a problem. I’m just wondering who the fuck thinks getting a dog out of Palestine is a priority over the dog’s human companion.

        • Oh no I agree, just feel like there’s this anti-dog, pro-cat bias in leftist spaces that flairs up sometimes. Heck r/TrueAnon had a whole thread about how dog owners are reactionary (can’t find it now for whatever reason). I agree a lot of dog owners are asshole but as a dog owner myself some of the dog-hate circle jerking I see here irks me slightly.

If the internet had been overflowing with pictures of zionist stormtroopers torturing cats and dogs and bombing pet hospitals the way we have seen them do to human beings, the “state of Israel” would have been nuked off the map by now.

The dog wouldn’t want to die without him. Dogs are almost like our symbiotes.

Even though I’d set up the cat tree on her insistence, Donut jumped straight onto my neck and settled in.

    “Goodnight, Carl,” she said.

“Goodnight, Donut,” I said, patting her head.

“Promise me you won’t let me die alone like GumGum’s mom,” she said. “Or GumGum. I guess she died alone, too. She was probably really scared.”

“Don’t worry, Donut,” I said. “We’ll find out who’s responsible, and we’ll make them pay.”

I’m just reading the “Dungeon Crawler Carl” series (which includes “The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook”) and he sort of inherits his ex-girlfriends cat Donut. Then the earth is flattened by aliens because we failed to file and appeal 50 years after first content and Carl is forced into a Running Man style dungeon for the alien’s entertainment. Luckily his cat Donut evolves and becomes intelligent and can shoot magic missiles out of her eyes. She later says:

“You promised me that I wouldn’t die alone,” she said. “You can’t keep that promise if you die before me. We do this together.”
