Daily reminder that sponsored segments are one of the few legitimate tools content maker have to sustain themselves without tying themselves up with invasive data gathering and keeping a modicum of indipendence from the platform that hosts them.

Fine, but I don’t need to literally watch the segment for them to get the bag, much less buy the products

Honestly most products that are advertized through youtube/podcasts have a sleazy vibe to them imo

Ads are a cognitohazard, no I won’t subject myself to them and I encourage everyone else to avoid them.

Yes much of what we rely on is ad supported. I don’t have an easy solution, still not damaging my brain by watching ads.

      content maker

We generate more content in a single day than anyone could consume in a lifetime

Shout out to my content creators who don’t use ads or seek subscription dollars though

It’s alright, the sponsors can’t know that we skip their segment. It has been confirmed by LinusTechTips a while ago.

They still get paid. There is no issue to sepak of. They’re not gluing your eyes open for that portion of the video.
