  • Notice how you couldn’t be arsed to provide a historical argument or evidence that you know anything about the time period?

Fuck you. No, the murder of Renee Good is not comparable to soldiers getting confused about an order to fire when they were literally getting pelted with rocks.

Christ. Obviously Adam’s should haven’t of defended them, they should have just been executed on sight. Makes perfect sense.

Maybe read some primary sources from the time period, instead of trying to argue about a topic you haven’t looked into since high school.

  • Sorry, I studied American history beyond high school “King George was literally Hitler” propaganda.

Don’t forget that a major factor motivating the “Patriots” was the fact that England was going to create an Indian reserve (land speculators doing shit like “buying” all of Kentucky for a handful of beads was pretty problematic for peace), and that they were letting the Canadians be Catholic. But sure, we can pretend that expecting the colonists to contribute to the costs of defending them against the Indians they were genociding was horrific oppression.

  • Just a reminder that the defense attorney, for the soldiers that gunned down the people during the Boston massacre, was none other than future president John Adams.

At the time, they were not advocating for independence, just more autonomy. Giving a fair trial and good representation in that trial was a way to demonstrate that the colonies could provide fair justice without England’s intervention. This is why they were so pissed off when the “Impartial Administration of Justice” Act passed.

He successfully argued they were in fear for their lives.

Which was probably fair in this case. The protesters at the “massacre” were throwing rocks at the soldiers. There was reasonable confusion in the moment.

Yuk. Skyrim stripped out everything that made Morrowind special. It feels more like a Ubisoft game than an RPG.

Morrowind is old and has retroRPG jank, but as long as you don’t run everywhere it’s not that hard. There’s even OpenMW if you want some modern quality of life features.

It’s more that they do what drag typically mocks - that kind of hyper performance of feminine conformity. Classic drag has always been mocking the way that conservative women perform gender roles.

It’s supposed to look like they got work done, because it reflects their commitment to the idea that women should be always performing “woman.” Women are meant to be looked at by powerful men, and they are acceding to that understanding.

  • If you liked FOMT/the idea of farming games in general, you would probably like Stardew. IMHO, it is really good at balancing things so that you aren’t locked into optimizing anything - you could farm minimally and focus on the social elements and have a good time too. The stuff in the meme doesn’t feel too much like pressure, because you’ll just naturally encounter everything by the end of year one and know how to find it by the end of year two for the community center (the main goal of the game), and if you want to optimize everything for cash you can buy out an equivalent “win.” It’s very sandbox-y.

Unlike the Harvest Moon games, gender doesn’t matter for who you marry, which is something I personally always enjoy in a “cozy” game. There’s even a cute option where you can chose to move in a monster as a friend instead of choosing to get married.

One of the funniest things I’m noticing on my current play through is that the easiest way to romance the alcoholic is to give him alcohol. The quickest way to consistently casually gain a bunch of hearts is to hang out at the bar every night and give everyone there a beer.

  • Similar to Harvest Moon, with a good dash of influence from the Rune Factory side series specifically. It was originally made to fill in the farming game niche - hard to imagine now, but there was a time period where there weren’t good new farming sims coming out.

FYI: the new Harvest Moon games have zero to do with the people who made the original Harvest Moon. The localizers got the rights to the “Harvest Moon” name and started making garbage slop farming games to take advantage of the name recognition.

The original creators are making games under the “Story of Seasons” name, including Switch remakes of Friends of Mineral Town and A Wonderful Life.
