The gulf state backing of salafi wahhabism and extremist reactionaries is well documented to keep the monarchs in power by dividing and conquering their secular armed neighbors by bleeding them white (see the fate of: Libya, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen). 9/11 was orchestrated by Saudi and Israeli intelligence assets, rich powerful connected Saudis were heavily involved. There is no mystery here, it’s quite out in the open.
