Thank you, your point was a good one. I was just talking with someone irl right before I posted that who was talking about how great everything was before trump and I was explaining some of this stuff to them. I think I brought some of that energy with me here.
Ok, I should correct my statement as well. Biden was just as bad as Trump at the time of his presidency. He continued many of the same policies from Trump’s first term. He and the Democrats also continued to increase ICE funding. So Bernie saying Biden didn’t “secure our borders” is a gross mischaracterization of Biden’s xenophobic policies.
Of course now Trump is now ratcheting up his racist/xenophobic policies and enforcement of those policies and is now worse than Biden and than he was in his first term. In the end though, this is all just part of a steady escalation from the two fascist USian parties.
