They went from a to z on Abdulrahman al-Awlaki without explaining how he ended up killed by a drone strike. Seems to be a pretty important detail.
IMO, there’s not enough known details around his death. He was in Yemen. Best I can determine, the US government says his dad was an al-Qaeda leader. They killed his dad via drone strike a couple weeks before he himself was killed the same way. I haven’t been able to find anything concrete about him though. I saw one article that suggests someone else was the target and he was either caught in it or they were mistaken about the target. I saw another that suggested he may have been involved in al-Qaeda. Frankly, they both seemed very speculative and I trust neither source. The respectable sources have next to no info.
It’s hard to say which is worse without actually knowing everything about how the teen ended up dead. There’s a lot of messed up thing about what happened to him no matter how you slice it. But it’s also not the same because none of that happened within the US.
What I can say is that what Trump has done is far more transparent. Say things we don’t like and we’ll deport you. A very blatant attack on free speech, citizen or not.
If you actually go join a terrorist organization or fight in another country’s war why would you still expect to be covered by the rights of US citizenship? Do you expect the US to extract the person so they can stand trial?
I’m not saying that’s what happened here. I’m only saying what actually happened makes a difference. To me it sounds more like the kid didn’t really do anything, but it’s just speculation.
Your willingness to justify the extrajudicial murder of children is outstanding. I am not gazing into the abyss. Then again US cops do it too, so it is part of US culture.

He was 16. Do children outside the US not have any rights at all? The US surely acted like it for the past six decades or so.
