Basically, I wanted to highlight comms I think could use more activity.
Here’s a list of comms I want to highlight, and why we should be using these more:

THIS ONE - Not enough posting outside of the megathreads in my opinion. We need to get those numbers up and there’s plenty of trans news (including positive stuff) to post.

/c/howdy - Ok, shameless plug here. I don’t expect this to receive regular posts given it’s for introductions, but I do at least wanna make people aware of it. Also you don’t have to be new to post. If you wanna share some important life update, like coming out, etc. then you totally should.

/c/fashion - I don’t know why we aren’t using this more. I think makeup guides/tips for transfems would go well here too and that’s something I’d love to see more of.

/c/acab - Fuck the police. We need to be shitting on them more. Srsly.

/c/hobbies - This is another I’d love to see get more activity and I really should post more stuff here myself. Also a good place to post about Warhammer painting, gunpla, RC cars, Nerf blasters, etc. I do have some cool stuff to post about here, so stay tuned.

/c/creepy - Ok, this is a BIG one for me. I’ve been posting more here with spoopy season coming up. A great place to talk about anything horror, dark fantasy, etc. Please join me in posting more creepy stuff.

/c/fitness - I’ve been looking for good transfem home exercise routines and I’d love to chat about it with others. I plan on posting about it here in the near future. Could be good for all kinds of gender-affirming fitness advice.

I really hate when a historic person lived their entire life in the opposite sex to what was assigned at birth, insisted to the day they died they were a man or woman, even in some cases killed people over it etc, yet an armchair historian will say “there wasn’t a concept of being trans so you can’t call them that”

Me explaining later that the gorgeous barista with striking features, who was at least 4 inches taller than me in her flat converse shoes, who initially looked alarmed when she saw me then relaxed and was friendly when she realised I wouldn’t break her stealth was a trans woman. For all the above reasons and more.

I’ve heard stories of trans people doing that to other trans people and I do not get how they think that’s acceptable. Publicly clocking someone is obviously rude as fuck
Intentionally outing someone is obviously bad, but I think sometimes the fear can arise too because we’re often an unsubtle (frequently neurodivergent bunch) who might accidentally say something.
That and seeing a clocky trans woman next to a stealth one can draw comparison and make them feel more perceived because people around them often don’t have object permanence to trans people.
I kind of had that dilemma before, where I was somewhere and saw trabs people and wanted to connect(cause it’s important to know your local people) but didn’t think of a elegant way to approach, that wasn’t “Hey I clocked you and am also trans, wanna talk?” Which I thought wasn’t a good approach. Well next time. Maybe I’ll get some flyers for local queer orgs, so I can use those as conversation starters.
The only time I’ve seen someone publicly who I assumed was trans was when they asked me for directions basically. Seemed like a pretty natural reason to approach me, but also typically makes for an extremely brief interaction.
There’s definitely a brief deer in the headlights look a boymoding or stealth trans woman gets from seeing another trans woman that goes away as soon as they realise they’re safe.
Butch lesbian cashier at the liquor store said I had “a lovely name” and was probably flirting. Aww yeah.

Just speaking for myself, HRT was a big deal. Of course it takes awhile for noticeable physical effects, but my mood improved noticeably after maybe a month on it. My skin also started showing a glow that didn’t exist before. I wish just injecting it once was like a Sailor Moon transformation and I’m suddenly the pretty guardian who fights for love and justice, but it’s still worth it imo to start as soon as possible and it won’t be too long hopefully before you start to notice small positive changes. Also just a warning, you’ll have some boob pain but my boob pain felt gender affirming so it wasn’t so bad.
HRT is great, and transitioning is a very fullfilling process. I wish I could hug you. It’ll all be well. Soon you’ll look back and it will have been a year on E and you won’t remember how you felt before.

wild to think that if nothing goes wrong i’ll be getting bottom surgery in less than a month.
After dragging my girlfriend to the thrift store 2 times she has developed its own interest into her wardrobe. Very happy about that.
Thrift stores are amazing for trans people, cause A. The clothes are cheap, and B. it is easier to find out your preferred style there, cause they have much bigger variety than normal clothing stores, and C. no attendants.
I find it difficult to shop at them due to my size. Not as difficult as shopping at regular clothing stores, for the reasons you mentioned, but if anybody is reading this and frustrated with not finding things that fit their body at the thrift store, specialty stores can be saviors. The curse of being an Amazon I suppose.
I can find some clothes that are good for my height but its rare at thrift shops or just regular stores. And a lot of it is grandma too loose style clothes, which at least can be taken in I suppose. I do have an easier time by dresses! Just accept that if theyre ankle length they usually hit mid calf or knee for me
