Whether Tyler Robinson faces a firing squad in Utah for the murder of Charlie Kirk, my guess is the accused killer will probably have been motivated more by Halo and similar fantasy role-play than by substantive political discord. The game features Grunts vs Elites. I’m guessing nobody wants to be an elite.

Reading the tweet it looks like he misunderstood what “political discord” means and thought it meant more like political conflict. I think he’s trying to say this was a dumb brainwashed kid lost in the fantasy of video games rather than any substantive political ideology.

But even that is an argument like 30 years out of date. Dude thinks he’s Tipper Gore trying to ban Mortal Kombat.

that in the world of azeroth people prefer playing goblins (grunts) killing humans (elites), and that directly translates irl #goblinmode

Trying to do a moral panic around Halo? He’s like several decades out of touch at this point, hasn’t been a relevant halo game in 15 years
