I saw a comment a while ago that called it myth making. It stuck with me for some reason. They don’t have a reality. They have right wing mythos.
What’s astounding to me is how innate that is. How can one process stimulus and information. Then filter it through a second layer of myth crafting.

Just to add two notes of context, it’s not a super conservative school. It’s an open enrollment school and with the state being red, it’s going to be generally red. There is a super conservative school next door at BYU. But really I would not describe Utah as “super red” in the MAGA context and more as a theocracy. Republicans give them that theocracy. But the theocracy has been fracturing the last few years and shedding to more democrat, but unfortunately others further right too. But democrats won’t ever seize the opportunity because it and other flyover states just don’t matter to them.
