A couple of studies have shown this doesn’t reduce car trips nearly as much as some would think and in some areas actually increases car trips due to less clumping of errands, less adherence to rush hour times, and an increase in delivery services like ubereats and amazon.

The only solution to traffic is alternatives to traffics like transit, and nearly every form of transit is more energy effdcient than private EVs. EVs are still good, but electrified transit should be a bigger focus.

At least it’s still a thing. Canada should definitely push WFH legislation that incentivizes businesses to go that direction when it’s an option though.

Uhhh… I got like 14k off the sticker price of my EV (Ioniq) in 2020 because of these… humourous(?) rebates.

If you scrap a gas guzzler and buy a new EV, you buff your barter stats and end up maxing out your inventory space pretty quick.

It’s possible they nerfed this hack in the latest release though.

          That’s actually awesome!

The max MSRP for a car or SUV is $50k to qualify. I don’t think there would be a lot of SUV EV’s that would come in under that price point, especially with vehicle prices right now

That’s excellent context, I’m 100% sure that due to the price reasons, I could not expect to have the same experience today that I did then (ie: end up in a car I wanted, and get a decent rebate).
