Today, Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) introduced articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, citing a sweeping abuse of power, flagrant violations of the Constitution, and acts of tyranny that undermine American democracy and threaten the rule of law.
“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” said Rep. Thanedar. “His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act.”
The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations.
I’ve never done this before but it’s actually time to call my congressman.
The totally free, and ad free, app called “5 Calls” will help you with that. It provides you their phone number, and a script. You can setup reminders to call daily, weekly, or I suppose monthly.
Won’t they catch on that you’re just reading from a script if enough people are using this app, and thus calling in and saying the same thing over and over again?
The fact that people are calling is what matters. It doesn’t matter if they are following a script. It’s a person that is taking their time to call in support/opposition to something.
^This. If you make the effort to call, you are very likely to vote in the next election. You won’t be able to talk to your representative directly but the aides will relay the volume of calls coming in to them.
Yeah representatives don’t rerally care if they get a thousand emails an hour 24/7, because that’s easy to do with bots. But if they have to constantly ignore calls or temporarily hire more people to handle the volume, they’ll take note. At least the better ones.
I mean no, the time was probably years ago and then again months ago, but yes better late than never, please do.
Something something “the best time to plant a tree…” Yeah, it was needed then, but it’s needed now too.
…something something “watered with the blood of tyrants”…
Why would an old man never have called their congress rep? Shame.
Rather than shame someone who is changing, maybe encourage it. It’s easier to get people on board the train if people are friendly rather than passing negative judgment.
Nope sorry doing something good is actually bad now
Whenever I see an atrocious pretentious person it seems like a toss up between .ml or feddit. It’s weird
Is feddit bad? I just joined my instance because it had my country’s name on it.
