The Ghost army only kills the corsairs in the books, so your problem with the green wall of death killing the entire Mordor army is on point.

In truth, I don’t hate the movies, and I’ll surely watch them again soon. Its just that these scenes really broke the immersion i had, i feel it could have been done much better

I somewhat agree, mainly on the ghost army part. I love Boromir’s sacrifice though.
