The administration of President Donald Trump has declared South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool a persona non grata in the United States.

In a social media post on Friday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Rasool was “no longer welcome in our great country”.

“Ebrahim Rasool is a race-baiting politician who hates America and hates POTUS,” Rubio wrote, using the acronym for President of the United States.

“We have nothing to discuss with him and so he is considered PERSONA NON GRATA.”

Rubio linked his remarks to an article by the right-wing media outlet Breitbart, wherein Rasool is quoted as saying Trump mobilised a “supremacist instinct” and “white victimhood” as a “dog whistle” during the 2024 elections.

Trump administration has frequently sparred with South Africa over legacy of apartheid

If I’m understanding this correctly the Americans’ issue is that they only have a legacy of apartheid and don’t continue it?

Well the young lady on the Jubilee video that Sam Seder debated was quoted saying “What’s the problem with xenophobic nationalism?” And that the Trump administration although are doing things to her liking are not extreme enough for her.

So I will be sticking with the South African Ambassador on this one.

It was so frustrating to watch those people “debating” because they all had no fucking clue what they were talking about. That one guy was trying to argue that government agencies get taxed ffs.

Thats MAGA in a nutshell. Thats what we are fighting against. The massive misinformation/disinformation spewed out on social platforms and people lacking critical thinking skills has created this perfect storm of idiocracy.
