Noone can tell if youre a bad person based on this. But youre definitely not the same person as back then. To the better or worse, who knows. Its in the past, you cant change it, but you can make sure that you wont be doing stuff like that (or adult equivalents) in the future. Dont bury the memories, keep them as a reminder but also dont beat yourself up over it too much.

So in about 20 years our lives could start having a fraction of the comfort and joy we had until now? Sounds awesome

I completely understand that kind of decision. Unfortunately its only gonna make it worse. If the people potentially making a positive impact on the world stop having children the downward spiral accelerates.

Also, a ‘gesture of thanks’ usually doesnt involve tensing up your whole body and stretching your right arm with the palm facing downwards. This is as unnatural of a gesture as it gets.

No person in their right mind would make such a gesture, especially not speaking in front of millions. It was not a 100% clear Hitlergruß. To me it seems pretty obvious that it was an intentional move to further divide the US population into people claiming he did a Nazi salute and those brushing it off as a random gesture, ridiculing the other side. Ragebaiting by doing a 99% nazi salute is not much better than doing an actual one.

How come its mostly people who behave exactly like nazis who ‘accidentally’ make very similar gestures to nazi salutes? I wonder…

Not sure what kind of smokers you meet. The ones I have to deal with blow cancer in my face right next to children, get aggressive when I ask them not to, spit on the floor every 5s, throw their still lit cigs into trash bins or into nature and cant stop coughing on the train.
