Of course now that is the same thing. Because without a local account all user folders are forced into onedrive, and then CAN NOT be moved to a different drive.
Oh wait. I’ve seen this one!

14·4 months agoOne night there was a storm, and Master Wq’s house collapsed. The next morning he began to build it again using his old tools. His novice came to help him, and they built for a while and were making good progress. As they worked, the novice began to tell Master Wq of his latest accomplishments.
“Master, I have developed a wonderful Vim script to give all sorts of useful information about a document. It counts the words, the sentences, the paragraphs, and even tells you what kind of document it is using the syntax highlighting rules. I use it in my pipelines all the time. It is a thing of beauty, and I am very proud. Truly, Vim is the greatest tool!”
Master Wq did not reply. Thinking he had unwittingly angered his master, the novice fell silent and continued his work.
The novice finished aligning two beams and had positioned a nail ready for beating into the wood, but found the hammer was out of reach.
“Would you pass me the hammer, master?”
Master Wq handed the novice a saw.
At once, the novice was enlightened.

CartographyAnarchy@sh.itjust.works•Ask your European friend if they can name all 138 states
32·6 months agoThe individual states are better compared to medium/small European countries than to districts of most countries in terms of size, population, economy and political independence.
Not being able to place Boise is is more like not being able to place Skopje than Nantes. (And yes, I had to look two of those up)

CartographyAnarchy@sh.itjust.works•Ask your European friend if they can name all 138 states
101·6 months agoHonestly, as a European I dare say most Europeans couldn’t name all 50 states, and definitely not place them on a map.
I’m confident I could correctly place Texas, Florida, probably California and maybe Kentucky if the borders were drawn.
Naming more than one or two state capitals? Forget it!
Edit: quite sure about Alaska and Hawaii too, but I forgot those (see!).

It’s like the old saying, ”If USA saw what A was doing to B they would invade C to ’protect D from E.’”
