  • Excuse me? Are you trying to say that side-loaded apps are more free of ads than those in app stores? What motivates a developer to release an ad-free side loaded app while refusing to submit it to (or failing to get it approved in) an app store?

How is this specifically an iPad issue and not an app developer issue?

I’d like to know, because I don’t have a Google device or account, how the Google Play Store is superior to the Apple App Store when it comes to ad or subscription supported software.

  • I’ve owned many iPads. To claim you can’t use it without a subscription service is ridiculous. Yes, you need an Apple ID to download apps from the App Store but that doesn’t cost anything (just like a Google account).

You’re comparing two electronic devices that are ten years apart from each other. Of fucking course the new one is going to be better. If you think a Galaxy tablet is great, you should really try a new iPad.

I mean, you’re just coming off sounding like an Apple-hater and someone who hasn’t ever actually owned an iPad. Maybe even a bot.

  • CORRECTION: Bill passed by WV lawmakers will not allow doctors to inspect child’s genitals to confirm gender

An amendment introduced by House Judiciary Chair J.B. Akers on March 6 would have allowed medical professionals to “to visually or physically examine a minor child for purposes of verifying the biological sex of the child without the consent of the child’s parent, guardian, or custodian.”

That amendment was adopted into the bill.

Before officially passing the Senate, Senator Patrick Martin (R - Lewis, 12) proposed two further amendments, one of which clarifies “that the article does not authorize certain examinations of minor children.”

Senator Martin’s amendment nullified Delegate Akers’ amendment, thereby excluding it from the final bill.

SB 456 was passed by the Senate Tuesday 32-1 with one Senator absent for the vote. In the House, 90 delegates voted in favor, eight opposed, and two were absent.

    Edit:
For more clarity, here’s the first paragraph of the passed bill. https://www.wvlegislature.gov/Bill_Text_HTML/2025_SESSIONS/RS/bills/sb456 sub1 enr.pdf

AN ACT to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding a new article, designated §5-32-1, §5-32-2, §5-32-3, §5-32-4, §5-32-5, §5-32-6, §5-32-7, §5-32-8, and §5-32-9, relating to sex definitions and single-sex spaces; providing purposes and general application; providing findings; creating definitions; establishing a standard of review; clarifying that the article does not authorize certain examinations of minor children; providing that determination of the biological sex of a minor is determined at the minor’s time of birth; providing for certain standards applicable to domestic violence shelters, public schools, institutions of higher education, and correctional institutions; clarifying certain sex-based data collection; and providing for severability.

  • While I agree that feminism should support men, the guys who aren’t capable of having friendships with other humans are just, for whatever reason, anti-social.

I’m a single guy in my mid forties. I have a huge social group and feel incredibly loved. Where this stigma came that men can’t get therapy or can’t cry or be affectionate with other men, I don’t know. I’ve never experienced this. Possibly because, thanks to the rise of feminism, my single mother was able to raise me with a career where she was able to put in the work and climb the corporate ladder without a college education. I didn’t have some dirt bag chauvinistic father raising me to treat women like meat. My father was a carpenter, an artist, and a poet. I learned the value of friendship and community and affection in my home. If someone’s struggling with loneliness or their place in their community, I wouldn’t blame feminism so much as their own family and inhibitions.

I think you’re confusing “men” with “assholes”. It doesn’t matter what gender or sex you are, if you’re a dick, you’re not welcome and society is going to judge and punish you. In that sense, perhaps feminism has failed us in its support of all.
