Also there are loads of ADSB trackers (how flight aware works) that they would have to shut their transponder off to disable, which is not what sounds like happened.

My guess is that it’s because people are using apps to get around Google’s revenue generating mechanisms, like apps to get YouTube without ads.

It probably sat out in a storm or was cleaned or something without the tanks being properly closed or they had a leak and then didn’t do a full preflight. That’s my guess, small planes can get loads of water in their fuel tanks sitting outside and it’s something we have to check each time.
