I think that’s about the polar opposite of where we’re going with this.

Am I the only one that’s disappointed the glass top is supported by their elbows?
That’s just bad teaching. If you’re not allowed to use negatives then the teacher shouldn’t be asking questions where negatives are the answer. 20-25 is NOT equal to zero whether you’ve learnt negatives or not.
I’m sure the Israelis expelled from other countries where land was stolen from them will be pleased to hear this.
your “For the hard of thinking” comment just comes off as the most insufferable
That’s a fair call and I’ve updated my comment. As a native English speaker who knows to varying degrees a few other languages I know it’s a tricky language so I wanted to clarify the distinction between “Palestine Action” and “Palestine action”.
However it can be used to point out someone’s hypocrisy. If country A is genociding people from country B, while screaming about people from country B genociding people from country C, “what about your genocide” is an appropriate response.
You might want to re-read that article. It doesn’t mention Gaza once. Here are some quotes:
“fighting between Israel and Iran”
“protect UK personnel and bases in the Middle East”
“we’ve never been involved in attacking with Israel”
“we’ve got assets out there they need to be protected given Iran has suggested they might be under threat”
Ah, the old “all British are nazis”. About as accurate as “all tankies are…” comments.
True, but I wasn’t aware that the RAF are currently flying sorties into any ongoing genocide.
Brit here. I’d be happy to accept Dem voters. Fart voters can stay at home and eat their own dogshit. Non-voters too; they knew exactly who FartV1 was and I am genuinely surprised Harris couldn’t get in simply on “I’m not Fart”. They really thought she’d be worse?
And for those who get over here by lying about their vote; they incriminate themselves, and will be deported the moment we discover the truth.
Please clarify why you think I’m a Nazi? (I’m not, btw. But maybe I inadvertently expressed something in a Nazi-y way; I haven’t done enough Nazi studies to know what figures of speech to avoid.)
Yes, that is vandalism by definition.
“Vandalism is the action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property.[1] The term includes property damage, such as graffiti and defacement directed towards any property without permission of the owner.”
For those for whom English is not their first language, this means the group named “Palestine Action”. It does NOT mean “action and other stuff in favour of Palestine”.
You want to protest the war? Fine, go on right ahead.
You want to put up a “Palestine Action” poster, or wear a “Palestine Action” T-shirt? That’s not fine.
If you’re still struggling to understand the difference, just ask and I’ll be happy to clarify.
No they’re not. There’s a difference between “Palestine Action” (the group) and “actions and other stuff in favour of Palestine”. The former has been banned, the latter has not. Protesting is legal in the UK; vandalising Air Force equipment is not.
Well you lot are just as bad. What’s with Guten Tag? Good Day? Is it still the 1800s in Germany? We stopped using archaic language centuries ago.
Exactly. So many people just don’t understand it. Nobody actually wants to know how your day’s going, it’s just a fancy “hello”. So I reply “hello” and have a little smile to myself while their face shows they’re processing the non-sequitur.
True. I ordered a book from them last week; it arrived in 2 days. Everywhere else, including Waterstones, was “oh we might be able to get it out the door sometime next year, if we can be arsed” so Amazon got the order.
FTFY.
I pay. Shit’s helping me with missing commas and reworking my passive wording, which I do a lot.
Oh, can “aliens” start political parties in the USA?
Imma start a “British Colony” party over there; anyone want to join me? MAABCA.
Dry or humid?
The problem with British heat is that it’s very humid, which is a lot worse than a dry heat. I’ve hardly felt a dry European 40°, but anything over 27° at home (Sheffield) and I’m just flobbing about trying to cool down.
