Maybe we are do, but it’s undeniable tjsybwe experience reality.
I’m sticking that as text over an image of Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
I agree with this screenshot of a tweet
Better yet, a system which requires co-operation between different parties
It also reduces available accommodation for people who need it. You can complain about what landlords have done to private ownership, but at least that’s a home someone can live in.
With Airbnb you can charge a week’s rent per night but it’s not a home and nobody can live there.
SaraTonin@lemmy.worldto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL - the Alt-Right is obsessed with Roman MemesEnglish6·19 hours agoYes, thank you. Not invented for a film, but the film is where the fascists took it from.
I recommend it anyway. It’s always fun to play with someone else’s ideas. You end up writing stuff you otherwise wouldn’t. And there’s something to be said for “I’ve got x amount of time to finish this” due to external factors. Just don’t pay attention to the competition aspect and you’ll almost certainly find it rewarding.
SaraTonin@lemmy.worldto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL - the Alt-Right is obsessed with Roman MemesEnglish14·21 hours agoSee the “Roman salute”. Not actually Roman, but instead invented for a film about Romans. Italian fascists liked it and adopted it. Then the Nazis liked it and adopted it from the Italian fascists.
It doesn’t matter that it’s not actually Roman, it’s still something that the fascists can do in order to pretend to be Roman.

They argued that this meant that it should be considered equally valid as an academic resource.

One thing that GIMP was always far superior on was cutting people out from single-colour backgrounds. All kinds of hassle on any other tool, with even the simplest workflow needing a tonne of refining and touching up. With GIMP, you just select the colour & hit “color to alpha”. Done. It even gets all the tricky hair semi-transparencies.
I forget who it was, but a public figure once said that birthdays are horrible because it allows people you thought you were close to to demonstrate how little they really know you
SaraTonin@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•British public wrong about nearly everything1·2 days agoI don’t disagree with your point at all, but I don’t think the divorce thing is separate from feminism. Women became financially independent because of feminism, and felt emboldened and worthwhile enough to leave abusive situations because of feminism.
It’s perhaps fairer to say that we can, at least partially, credit feminism with these things. It didn’t magically do it in the way that misogynists would like to think, but it’s definitely not unrelated.
Frankenstein was the doctor’s surname. The creature refers to the doctor as his ”father“. Since it’s common for offspring to have the same surname as their fathers, i put it to you that the creature’s name is Mr. Frankenstein. And, just like the doctor, you can just call him Frankenstein for short.
