Jellyfin media server. I have another one acting as my router (with a small managed switch and openWRT) and one more pi5 i am using as a retro console. That one uses 2 nvme m.2 drives but the pi4 doesnt support nvme, only sata.

I needed a SATA SSD for my raspberry pi 4 connected via usb3.
I am a home user.

Nah, they were dumb enough to lose them, those bananas are fair game.

Is skyrim the new doom?

Ads are way past the point of pissing me off so much that i just block my ears and close my eyes until they go away.
Its fucking disrespectful to expect people to just be ok with having that shit shoveled into their eye sockets.
Amazon is a tool to me to get the things i want based on need for things that i am doing or to replace things that are broken. I am not window shopping there. I am not browsing things. I know what i need. I find the cheapest one with the highest rating and buy it.

Did spez change his name to AI?

Yes. There’s a crease in the middle of the screen.
But its invisible to the user when looking at the screen.
It doesnt impact using the screen.
Its barely there on the latest fold 7. Definitely more prominent as you go back through the versions. Regardless i have owned 3 generations of the phone and used my wife’s one so 4 generations total and the crease doesn’t matter. Hasnt mattered on any of them.
What do you think the problem is with there being a crease? What practical issue does it raise? Or is it purely an aesthetic issue? Becaus3 if it is, like i said, you cant see it when you are the one using it.

I had my fold 3 for 4 years and my wife used it to get a feel for them after me and she very quickly got a 5. I had some of the paint chip off in places after a few years and one time that i got scared by something and jumped a bit and threw it out of my hand to the ground with the inner screen open (only cosmetic damage to the body) it survived a lot. A hell of a lot of engineering went into the hinge so its pretty much the strongest part of the phone. Jerryrigeverything on youtube has tried to snap these phones and they are very strong and so far have not broken in one of his tests.
Any phone can break, but i say if you care for your phone it should last. The 3 onwards have been really solid phones and the fears around them, to me, seem made up.

After reading through the comments and seeing the majority of people are commenting negatively but have never had a folding phone. i feel like i should chime in.
I have owns a fold 3 a fold 6 and now a fold 7, my wife has a fold 5 and we have never had one fail on us. No broken screens, no scratches or bugs. There are also several people where i work who have had at least 2 generations of these phones and also have never had issues.
I know these things break, but so does any phone. Phones breaking tend to be a user problem and not a hardware one. If you dont handle with care then you are the problem.
In fact i have only ever broken 1 phone in my 20+ years of using them and it was entirely my fault. I put it on a book on a table, then without thinking i lifted the book and it slid off and landed in a bucket of water. Pixel 1 not waterproof. My bad.
I guess i just think people are quick to judge these phones without ever having used one and i think thats so short sighted.
I am following through. Prepped a mint boot drive and have a 1tb ssd on its way. Gonna dual boot for a bit but gonna try to move to mint as a daily driver. Because fuck windows
I recently set up a raspberry pi with retropie so i have 1000s of games that dont require internet connections now :) fun project and tonight once my new ssd arrives im setting up linux mint on my desktop (dual boot) and am going to try to transition away from windows. Because its fucking shit.
The pi sparked the drive i needed to make it happen. Really enjoyed my intro to linux.
Ahh but if you double 12 and add 1 you get 25

Unrelated: did you know that the term “bog standard” comes from the term “box standard” which means, essentially, vanilla. No modifications or additions, just the basic version in the box. This used to be on the boxes for things people bought.
Now it basically means the same thing but to a none native speaker bog standard would likely not make much sense, where box standard has the context in the term.

Yeah… he is a good politician if your bar is “can speak” “has fingers” “is less than 90% brain dead” and “voted most likely to be leader of a cult in his high school yearbook”
Ive been getting a taste of linux setting up a few raspberry Pis. Its been really fun and it got me looking at installing a linux distro on my PC. Probably ubuntu or ive heard good things about mint.

If there was a space race then you can guarantee that elon would want it out of the country.
Yeah, cant do any transcoding though, but i dont need 4k for everything. Though as long as my client can play the format of the video then theres no issue. It would be easier with a mini PC but im enjoying learning linux and really liking the rasberry pi in general.
In terms of SSD. I could use a HDD. But it comes with 2 disadvantages. 1 is that media i copy from other devices to the drive takes A LOT longer to transfer. And 2, i have a big clunky HDD on my desk next to my 5 inch Pi… just makes more sense to use an SSD.
But essentially i guess its just not great to assume that there is no use case for them for home users just because you dont have a use case for them personally.
