These are games that work well without a controller, The Room actually would play worse with one. If at all.

Oh, this is so true. I set it up and now can watch things anywhere. Even my kids who live 6 hours away can just jump on and watch that stuff. Jellyfin is what plex wanted to be, like 10+ years ago. I remember how stupid it was when they first started charging people to watch their own local media, it was funny at first because it was only on iphones that you had to pay. Then it was everywhere. They will continue to take features away until you pay.

Subreddits have banned people for activities that users do in other subreddits since long before the API changes. Reddit was bad, long before the API changes. The writing was on the wall when they first changed how votes were displayed, its what started the mass trend up karma farming. There used to be a lot of novelty accounts going around, the small user base kept things grounded and on topic. Then users like gallowboob took over, flooded the site with repost after repost, farming karma, other users began doing the same and now its nothing more than karma hell.

Once a community, any community, becames large enough, the quality of the output drops. If you have 10000 users in a sub/community, and only a couple hundred that actually like the topic, the trolls and the off topic karma whores will take over. Low effort, low skill, low floor, low ceiling. Enshitification isn’t just a word, and it didn’t just happen over night. It’s been happening for a while. The internet will never be as good as it used to be, sure we can do more, watch more, send more, download more, play more, etc. But the smaller close-knit communities that helped cause the internet to thrive in the first place are never coming back.

Not at all. It’s one of the very few games where I didn’t skip any cutscenes. I also found it extremely easy to follow along, and also continue the main quest lines. I’ve never finished skyrim, and not just because of the modding rabbit hole, I just never gave a shit about the story. (I honestly think bethesda is extremely overrated for games, but thats another thing entirely). Even though I found the story easy to play and actually got invested in it, the side quests and side stories were just as fun. Although I don’t think I have ever played any mission as fun and different then drunk dialing while dressing up. That shit was hilarious.

The atomic bombings were massive, and will stand throughout history as the first, and so far (and hopefully), the only time nuclear weapons were used on civillians. Thats false equivalency. Billions is the larger number and since a billion is 1000x a million, it would be 3% of their $10000 and 15% of your $10. So its their $300 tax vs your $1.50 tax. Generation Zero was amazing, when it first came out and it was all new. The machines were actually scary to be up against. I remember playing the beta and freaking out that the dogs were following me around when I was in the bunker, how they would track you down. Just always put me on edge, but then you take down a few. Learn the ropes, get better gear. And that anxiety is gone. Its not longer difficult. It got too easy, not scary to be out at night alone.
I will say though that the engine used was fantastic. I have never before, or since, had a game that loads so fast, looks so nice on mid-low level hardware. You hit load game, and you are in the game. It ran fantastic and looked really nice. The concept was amazing and for the most part it did work. Until it didn’t. Fun game but nothing outstanding.
If you compare AI ‘slop’ with great works of course its easy to dismiss it and bash it. But there is more human crap out there made each day than there is great works. Music, images, video, texts, all of it. For each piece of great work there is that you find, theres hundreds if not thousands of not so great works that are out there. AI works can be anything from 100% no human involvment besides the initial prompt. They can also involve time and work to get the prompt just the way the user wants. It’s going to end up with more people being able to create more things. Not everyone can draw, or play music, or make movies. Not everyone has the time or money to put everything together thats needed to make something like a good song or a good movie. AI tools are going to give more people those chances, and yes there is going to be slop, but theres already been slop for decades that was all 100% human being made, that had no meaning, no symbolism, no clever literay allusions. So what exactly is the problem with people using AI generate something?
