Edit: I just read the post made by the imposter, and while I disagree with someone pretending to be someone else I don’t agree with how you called out someone who left a really heartfelt message. Saying “fuck you” to someone who obviously cares about you when it was their assumption it was you who made the post? Nowhere in that post did they “armchair psychoanalyze you” as you put it. They were just telling you what they think you need. You just misread it because the only thing you care about is people being on your side instead of people agreeing that you’ve not been the best person on this site.

This is why I believe any pseudo apology you attempt to make will be insincere. If you truly wanted to “take a break” you wouldn’t have come back and made this post but you did. The post itself wasn’t even that bad except for maybe the Carell 40 year old virgin reference which I agree is mean, but condemning people who look up to you over a post you didn’t make and then telling them “fuck you” just tells me everything I need to know about it you as an individual.

This seems like a really immature response which I’ve seen time and time again from assholes online that amass a cult of personality and then when people no longer want to put up with their shit any longer they play this facade like they’re caring and deeply apologetic. I know crocodile tears when I see them.

I also don’t like that they’re trying their best to do damage control for their shitty behavior and trying their best to control the narrative “For what it’s worth I had planned to make that post today ban or not, I was at work when that happened.” Yeah, totally believable lol. If they are responding to this can you at least tell them to stay offline because it’s obviously degraded their spirit to the point where they’re addicted to posting and for any age addiction to social media is bad but at 40 I think that’s embarrassing.

I’m a lurker but if you see my post history you’ll know that I stopped engaging with the site over this user. It seems like they’re only apologetic and owning up to their mistakes after the ban. This isn’t good enough because if they’ve been making so many threats against users then it says a lot about them as a person and that isn’t someone we need in a community that wants to maintain some level of protection for its user base who interact mostly in good faith.

This person made a post about wanting to do an adventurism and then claimed to be 40 years old…. Just think about that for a minute… 40…

I’m coming back to say this (spent at least an hour trying to find my stupid password 🙄) but I agree with the Nokichi thing. I’ve noticed they’ve always flexed their mod status and time on the website a lot and they often go on power trips to ridicule users. Can’t really find any to be specific but like I stopped using this website because of them. I had to tell them once that saying they were going to do an adventurism was really immature and when I asked them to delete the post they left it up. Like is this the sort of people we want around modding and having control?

I don’t think a ban is in order (although maybe a month long one would be helpful for them) but I do think they should be removed as mod from whichever communities they mod.

I personally would remove or edit the post with an update if I made a comment like this (alluding to committing adventurism) like I know you’ve clarified you didn’t mean it and that’s good, but I think keeping that part up is still harmful and the least you could do is make an update that it’s not serious.

I just think we make mistakes and this is one of them. I’m still sympathetic with you don’t get me wrong I just think it would be more mature of you to reconsider what you say online in regards to making vague threats. Like idk I’m nearly 30 and I would personally cringe at myself if I made a post like this lol

Then I think it’s your duty to set an example to the younger people who are a part of this community and not encourage adventurism even in the form of venting frustrations.

We all deal with hardships from time to time and it’s not just exclusive to you. I’d advise you edit the adventurism part from the post so people don’t get the wrong idea.

Also I don’t want to encourage this behavior it’s very defeatist and counter-revolutionary and you should know better if you’re a real leftist. Money running out and being laid off aren’t good excuses to do an adventurism.

Also you strike me as someone young so if this is the case you have to understand that as you age and the more you develop and spend time doing productive things like community work and organizational work, you will be less likely to see adventurism as an option. I just think you need to be told that it’s cringe to say a certain thing for an online audience because we’re all just usernames. Please don’t do anything stupid

I don’t think it’s fair to subject them to this over this insatiable urge to be martyred, I think this is an issue with a lot of people who have their ideological awakening online. Jt isn’t a healthy outlook not just as a leftist but as a person and there’s better ways you can manage the stresses you’re experiencing.

i live in a major city and a lot of my colleagues are leftists or liberal kinda like Bernie types. i think they might get excited over the idea of a union and i have mentioned it before. I just need to be able to talk to them soon

Personally i think a lot of my coworkers, especially the younger ones and near my age are all fairly aware of leftism and stuff. It helps that we live in a major city so like they totally understand and I’ve been able to discuss this with a few of them. I still want to take the advice of others here and maybe lay off from putting these out for now and I’ll just wait till we know which unions will support us.

And yeah that was me! PSL did help me and the member for that had experience in organizing. It wasn’t really PSL backed it was just a meeting i had with the member to get any resources and help with unionizing which they did and i think ill get some info soon about which unions to join soon

I’m going to wait to see which unions I’ll be able to join so i can just use their pamphlets instead because they would be more welcoming than my own. I think this was a little side project for me I got a bit too excited after my first meeting with PSL lol!

My coworker mama (her nickname for opsec) who is really into organizing and giving me encouragement is my supervisor though so i hope this isn’t a problem. i still trust her though and like she’s only a supervisor so I think it’s safe. I also have a real good relationship with my boss he’s really sweet and even though he’s part of the upper management team i still think he would support this because his relationship with his superiors might be strained anyway. Imagine getting my boss to join the union too 😱

I’ve read through everyone’s comments and I think i got too excited with the content and I think i should maybe lay off handing these out. I got too eager with it all and I’ll just wait till we’ve joined a union before handing anything out. I think their pamphlets will be a lot more easy to read and more inviting and have less agitating language.

Do you think there’s a chance at management going after some coworkers interested in joining the union if let’s say they made a mistake like coming in late? I say this because I don’t want there to be a situation where in an attempt to demoralize us they might go after some employees just because they want to unionize? Can this happen?

Can you elaborate? No need if it’s too much to write about but it would be nice to know what I’m kinda getting myself into. i am fairly confident in sticking the landing with this thing and i am anxious at the same time but i wont let my anxiety dissuade me.
