I do think that’s the rule of life though, to get something you have to part with something. I bet it would be really nice to be friends in real life with the people on that matrix, but right now at least that group needs anonymity more. It doesn’t always have to be that way, life is odd and there are no concrete outcomes. I can agree with that, but I think for privacy you lose some inclusivity. I understand you want to feel comfortable when talking about sensitive topics. On the other hand, is being a woman really such a sensitive topic that we shouldn’t be able to have a space that’s respected? It’s depressing that it’s not just intrinsically understood that these spaces are important, deserve to be public and proud, and really should be more prolific- but here we are.

I can understand a mistake, and like I read on the original thread and on here; the mods are really nice. It just really shouldn’t happen more than once imo. I also feel bad for the mods literally trying to keep a space designated for woman safe. When I first saw the group, and the rules- It was confusing but I think it’s understandable. There’s not 100 of these spaces, and the rules should be understandable for anyone who thought of participating.

Yes. I usually leave whatever game I’m playing on, running, on sleep mode. It’s always fine. I do however, make sure that the fan is not blocked off, and that it’s plugged in so I don’t wake up to a dead deck. Otherwise, there isn’t any danger that I’ve noticed- everything runs fine. If you’re NOT running anything and put it in sleep mode, any percentage above 15% should be fine. Turning it on and off actually takes more energy than sleeping it does, so I’d just keep doing what you’re doing.

I saw this play out and there were more than one of these users breaking the rules on that sub. I guess it’s tempting to want to comment on a first page thread, but boundaries exist for a reason. I don’t really see women going into incel spaces, making incels uncomfortable. Still, what it looked like was most of these men knew this wasn’t a community for them, but figured that their comments were so invaluable, how could it exist without their imput. It’s pathetic.

It’s not about homophobia, Bill Clinton was impeached because of the Monica Lewinsky stuff, and that’s not illegal either. Hey, I actually voted for Mamdani! I live in Brooklyn and the support was there for him. There were people canvassing until the last day . Don’t want to give away too too much info on here, but to see him win and be able to overcome all the hate and Islamophobia is really inspiring. I’m also a first gen immigrant, and when I came here as a toddler I didn’t know any English. I’m glad he’s demonstrating that this is our city too, we will it to run, we do the dirty jobs, see the unseen, clean the filth, care for the old and sick only not to be seen as essential. Personally I’m not Muslim, but I’ve always had respect for the values of the religion. When I read The alchemist by Paulo Cuelho (the first time) it was amazing to realize that people could truly be bound to do good by religion. NYC has always been a melting pot, and it shouldn’t be run by someone who doesn’t see and appreciate that. Anyways, know that your hope and my hope are the same. Come January we’ll begin and see if there is still something worth fighting for. We really are only at the precipice.

Seriously it’s insane how much hate you can get by saying something as simple as “children shouldn’t be left home alone” or something as obvious and banal as that.

This is stupid and it doesn’t make any sense. People should have a right to know if it’s inclusive? If other races are portrayed? If other sexual orientations are portrayed? The only people who mind are bigots, and they can just move on. What’s especially remarkable to me is that bigots aren’t satisfied with not partaking, they desperately and pathetically need others to share that view, because in their minds, then it isn’t wrong.

There isn’t any more. Honestly, it’s just you. You can keep commenting to no end, but my kindness does expire.
