Visit a AAA location and get an “international drivers permit”. It’s super easy and a good insurance policy for yourself. I highly doubt the police speak much English and aren’t corrupt, so it may save headaches. Also, watch out on neighborhood streets for potholes.

Horsey@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Top Ten Reasons Americans Want Enormous CarsEnglish1·3 days agoTo be fair, that car was last sold new in 2017 according to my search. I was arguing for 2025 models.
Horsey@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Top Ten Reasons Americans Want Enormous CarsEnglish1·3 days agoI stand corrected lol. Nissan leaf is basically just stuck in 2014 in all honesty. They still even use the Japanese connector that no other car uses. It’s basically a glorified golf kart. I completely even forgot they sell them new still.
Everything else > bz4x/Soltera >> Leaf lol
If you buy a 2025 Leaf for over 20K, you got robbed lmao.
Horsey@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Top Ten Reasons Americans Want Enormous CarsEnglish3·3 days agoI’d reckon all the electric cars accelerate in the same tier unless it’s the bz4x/Soltera which are literally the worst vehicles on the market right now.
Horsey@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Top Ten Reasons Americans Want Enormous CarsEnglish181·3 days agoDrive an electric F150. It’s legitimately a skill to drive the thing. I went from a “Prius C/Aqua” to the truck because I have a horse to haul. I legitimately think there should be a special license endorsement to be allowed to drive it. I would vote to require such extra testing if given the chance.

God forbid someone steal food or pharmacy items like shavers (shaver cartridges here are crazy expensive if you get name brand). Walgreens/CVS also has a tendency to lock the shelves behind plexiglass so you have to ask for help to buy more expensive items.
In some cases, these kind of stores are targeted specifically. There are shopping centers with higher end restaurants that coexist with super high theft locations literally within walking distance.
TLDR: it’s mostly to abate crimes of poverty

Yes, but that’s not typical for a high school dropout; he’s exceptional. Highschool dropouts are not super well read, as a demographic, either. I’m was not being hostile towards people who didn’t go to college.
critical thinking

Horsey@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Report finds more than a third of CA households are struggling to make ends meet8·16 days agoWhat has any Southern California Republican done or proposed to lower the cost of living? Southern California has the best and most desirable climate in the entire world. The cost of living there reflects that. The only other places with a similar climate are hard core Muslim theocracies (see Casablanca).
Horsey@lemmy.worldto Android@lemdro.id•Google is working on a big UI overhaul for Android: Here's an early lookEnglish1·17 days agoYeah. I left windows at windows 8 because of it. At the same time, I left Android because I could no longer build a custom ROM with blur on a Samsung phone (it was around the time Samsung started locking USA bootloaders). The plain, flat, zero layer context drove me away pretty hard. Also, Android just looks super outdated, like as if it came out in the windows ME era and never got more than a color overhaul.
Model 3 is the cheapest hatchback on the American market as of now. Buying new and not getting NACS will be painful in the coming years as well. I know Elon is a piece of shit, but it’s sad that exactly zero other manufacturers beat the model 3 price+range of any model on offer at the moment. Otherwise, there’s the base model Ioniq 5. End of List.
It’s such a shame that car manufacturers are so slow to innovate and compete with Tesla, but that’s where we’re at at the moment until Chinese cars are allowed to be sold stateside. I’d buy Chinese tomorrow if it were available here. Western car manufacturers are fucked; check out the Xaiomi Su7, BWD, etc.
