lemm.ee is one of the biggest instances. yes, there are communities and all of them will be lost.
is this trolling, or are you serious?

oh no, did someone bomb your airplanes, comrade?

the true mind-fuck is that people in us intelligence community now have to think twice about what they can share up the chain of command.
Why do you think you understand every person
i have not said that. also, the thinking of the people is not relevant here, the result is.
Bravery does exist.
it does exist, but going on a suicide mission that is not going to change anything is not bravery. it is useless.
There are people willing to risk their lives for their ideals without being selfish and proud about it. It’s not always main character syndrome just because you’re unable to imagine any other explanation.
yes, it is. there are only two possible outcomes. either your death for the cause does not change anything, and then why would you decide to suicide in the first place?
or you think you are so important that your death will change things, and if you think that, you are just delusional. i am not trying to be asshole here, i am being realistic. if the fucking pope decided to visit there and they would accidentally bomb him to sto’vo’kor, they would say “oops, that was unfortunate” and people would mourn for a week, before things would go right back to where they were before.
they are aware that they will probably die. It’s not stupidity, it’s bravery.
if you expect to die and still go through with your plan, that it is the definition of stupidity. if you think you are so important that your death will move millions and finally change things, that is the main character syndrome that is being discussed.
in reality, she will get two news cycles and that will be it. nothing will be changed and she will be dead. if she really wants to do something, it is much smarter to do anything where she does not die in the process.
edit: also drones are dirt cheap, so what if some of your quads get shot, you can launch hundreds at once
there were 2 million people in gaza at the end of 2024 according to wiki.
the “dirt cheap” drones will cost 10k+ usd and will be able to carry few kg of payload for quite a limited distance, say 10km.
feeding 2 million people using that can only work in a kid’s cartoon show.
14th_cylon@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why does alcohol stop my back pain but medicine doesn't?61·2 days agoWell, I mean at least the head fog and sleepiness from weed also comes with actual pain relief. 🤷🏻♂️
ok, i am glad it works for you.
But also, it really depends on the weed.
well, for me all the “positive effects” disappeared over time and i was just left with those meh ones, which is why i ultimately stopped. but it may not be the experience of every person in the world, so…
14th_cylon@lemm.eeto politics @lemmy.world•Trump not informed about Ukraine attack that destroyed huge fleet of Russian planes241·2 days agoamerica was called both and it is not anymore. yes. the results of its efforts were at times dubious, and its ideological position was often clouded with its selfish interest, but complaining about propaganda and countering with propaganda from the opposite direction is not going to move the discussion anywhere
14th_cylon@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why does alcohol stop my back pain but medicine doesn't?41·2 days agowhereas medically prescribed painkillers (…) just give me a head fog and make me sleepy
which is in start contrast to marijuana 😂
14th_cylon@lemm.eeto politics @lemmy.world•Trump not informed about Ukraine attack that destroyed huge fleet of Russian planes181·2 days agoWhy on earth should Zelensky do that?
he should not and without reading the article i am pretty sure that is not what it suggests. it illustrates how untrustworthy the former ally (the word leader was used in the past) of the free world is.
oh that was just the commenter’s childish effort to counterattack and not having any real argument :D
oh no. i didn’t give up to logical fallacy so now i am voting for a genocide? now that is some debate championship stuff. how was kindergarten today?
brave
I was talking about the fact that “what have you done” is childish effort to protect yourself from an argument.
and there is thin line between brave and stupid. only the person with main character syndrom will try to shield a grenade with their body hoping the plot armor will protect them.
What have you done lately?
what they have done lately has zero effect on whether the discussed move is smart or not. that is not how stuff works.

14th_cylon@lemm.eeto TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•I don't understand some people22·13 days agoDo you really want to deny my experiences?
i do. you just did not recognize pretty clear sarcasm, it is documented in writing above. it is unlikely that it was only time in your life it happened. so yeah, some of these experiences in your past were also cases where you did misread the situation.
your badly acted offense does not change anything about that.
