I have never before seen the nation this interested in a mayoral election. I think that the problem is that Yankees are so used to generic conservative politicians (regardless of said politicians’ party affiliations) that the mere concept of a politician having a modicum of charisma and a handful of reasonable policies astonishes them.

The people in New York hear his actual policies and stuff from his canvassers, while in other parts of the country they think there’s about to be a bloody civil war for the fate of freedom and democracy in NY lol.
