Even if they don’t do it now, they can become an alternative browser engine for Apple in the EU. You can check the full thing here
What’s next? In this regard, keep improving WPT tests which you can check out here, keep lowering time here
And then just keep improving browser to match standards and be ready for alpha in 2026
Oooh, that sounds like an awesome project, haven’t heard about it before!
They are creating a browser from scratch, no Chromium, Gecko, Webkit or anything, if you want to check them out at https://ladybird.org/ or https://www.youtube.com/@LadybirdBrowser
To add to this; only the engine is from scratch. They will be using non engine related third party libraries:
… we will be making use of 3rd party libraries for common functionality (e.g image/audio/video formats, encryption, graphics, etc.)
We are already using some of the same 3rd party libraries that other browsers use, but we will never adopt another browser engine instead of building our own.
Yep, they were trying to do it all from scratch at first, but that mentality was kind of “to draw a triangle, you must first invent the universe”
They now use libraries that are well maintained and focus on building what really is a competency of a browser. I think it was a good change in development

This the same browser that was smeared as transphobic? I don’t know what the truth is but it’s just something I read on here a few months ago.
Yes, it is, don’t support it.
I used to be excited about Ladybird but Andreas Kling is, objectively, a piece of shit and, subjectively, a giant piece of shit.
Proof of what you’re saying: https://hyperborea.org/reviews/software/ladybird-inclusivity/
