I’m on Phase 5 of the expedition and the only thing I have left to do in order to complete it is to shut down the sentinel forces. Unfortunately, I accidentally sold my sentinel boundary map! Is there any way to get another one, or am I just lost and should give up now?
I’ve gotten so much salvaged glass and nothing has popped up. I’ve taken out 3 sentinel capital ships, and no maps. I’m out of ideas.
It sounds like you got it sorted, but I would also advocate for the Neutron Cannon, with P-Field uprade, as it’s my favorite weapon. It fires a shotgun blast of purple energy that has some AOE and uses carbon for ammo. It’s also good for salvage scrap due to the AOE, 2 shots will take out all the appendages as long as you hit one of them, the center thing takes a few more and is honestly easier with the mining laser, but yeah
attack a sentinel and keep killing them until you kill the big robot, you will get a pillar location
or you can try to find a base near a pillar in the anomaly teleport
This is the way. I believe one of the milestones gives you a prepackaged neutron cannon and one upgrade, and other upgrades are easy to find at space stations. The neutron cannon is stupidly overpowered once you have three S class upgrades on it, preferably with one of two of them in a supercharged slot. Sentinel combat is trivialized once you realize that you can collect the canisters they drop simply by shooting them, and your hopped up neutron cannon will crack those open with one shot, and half of them contain shield refills.
The problem I ran into is that I keep running out of ammo, so I only make it to around wave 3 and then have to give up. Occasionally I can jump into my ship and get some quick kills to find some ammo, but it’s never enough to really get anything done.
As others have said killing sentinels from level 5. You can craft a ton of ammo from ferrite dust if you’re running out
Looting the barrels dropped by sentinels has a chance to drop salvaged glass which has a chance to drop a map
You can get them from one of the guilds or cartographer and I THINK from salvage containers
… It’s been so long since I’ve had an ammo shortage, I didn’t even think about crafting it! Well that solves everything lol
if you look at the available bases to warp to at the space stations, there was one popular base that was right on top of the sentinel forces pillar (the preview image should give it away). when I visited it, I didn’t even have to fight them as someone else cleared it before I got there.

I don’t think I needed to find a pillar. I just fought all five sentinel waves and that disables the forces once you defeat them all.
That would be my first option, but I’m having a bit of an ammo issue on this expedition. By wave 3 I keep running out and have to retreat to my ship.
I think expeditions usually give you some weapons and decent upgrades for them from a previous milestone before the sentinel one. Such as the neutron cannon I think.
Are there no boundary maps for sale at the space station?
Not that I could find.
You get them fairly often from salvageable scrap, too.
