    My phone does it too, had to beat the habit out out of it but once in a while I’ll have an “it’s” slip through where I intended “its”. Shopkeepers have ruined it for everyone.

        I’m assigning blame, possibly unfairly, to people who run shops and make signs with all kinds of apostrophe abuse (“Bag of Apple’s $1” or something (intent generally isn’t “bag of apple is” when the sign is written)). It creeps into the “here comes an ‘S’” phenomenon and I’m making some assumptions about that bad habit influencing the keyboard’s word selections.

        Long way around to get there and shaky reasoning at best.
