Incredible tidbit of information about Agent Orange. Finnish forest capitalist bought it and spread it all over the forests here as it was sold to them as coppice prevention, this went on from the 50s all the way to the 80s.
As a result there were children that were born without limbs and the forests still haven’t recovered from it.

I had a neighbor growing up who served on a patrol boat during the war. He grew up on a farm and knew all about pesticides, so when he saw the planes flying over spraying he would go down into the hold and breathe through a bandana until they passed. He told 12 yo me that everyone knew exactly how bad it was, that guys would avoid any duty that involved handling it at all, that people would make dark jokes about it etc. If cornfed boomer conscripts can figure it out, there is no reason to believe those responsible didn’t know

I’ve seen so many Redditors fiercely argue that this is completely fair, so I’m pleasantly surprised that this guy doesn’t.

What a bunch of fucking losers
In the process of watching this. I followed comrade luddybuddy’s content warning and skipped the Vietnam section. While it does have a liberal, smug, and pro-capitalist tone to it, one of the thing’s that strikes me is how almost all of the news clips come from RT. I thought liberals didn’t like them. Oh well. Other than that, I don’t have too much to add. I just learned the specifics of Monsanto’s evil.
I love that we’re in the IG Farben & Monsanto have teamed up to invent to invent fun new types of cancer timeline.
If you were to write a book where the company that used concentration camp slave labor and manufactured zyklon b for the holocaust bought out the company that made agent orange and roundup people would think its and over the top gag.
