    I think extremism is a issue in modern society in general. Moderate positions and everything liberal is on the decline everywhere. So maybe church just isn’t exempt from the general trend and that’s all there is to it?

    Other than that, if you have two contradicting studies, you need to do another one. According to the timestamp, that article is almost 9 years old. Maybe there’s new data out there.
