A male Spinus tristis. There are a quartet of these always hanging around the neighborhood but they’re flighty, and I could never get them with my old lens setup. At best they’d be about four smudgy yellow pixels, indistinguishable from those sunflowers. Already this thing is paying dividends.

Well, “paying” is an awfully strong word.
