All over the world, fertile land is vanishing, swallowed up by the desert. Africa is particularly hard-hit. In a century, the Sahara has moved south by 250 km, over a 6,000 km front. Land has become sterile, and populations have fled.
In Morocco and Senegal, a decisive and stubborn battle is being led against desertification. The oases are being healed and a Great Green Wall is under construction.
