          You’re assuming that they haven’t already got their proof. People are arrested and held until trial all the time.

          This person hasn’t been thrown in jail or deported yet btw. They got arrested like someone would when they’ve been accused of a crime. It’s now up to them to prove that she is a criminal or she’ll be let go.
