It blows my mind to think about this sort of thing being made completely by hand. Ornate and precise and zero assistance from computers or lasers or anything. And I’m not saying that using that stuff today is bad. I think it’s amazing, but the fact that they couldn’t and just painstakingly engraved and carved and etched these sorts of masterpieces by hand is just mind blowing.
