A school in the eastern UP is holding off on an expansion project to build two new classrooms and welcome 40 new students because of noise pollution from a nearby bitcoin mining farm. Residents are calling for the facility to shut up or shut down and move.
This makes me think about simcity and how the issues with residential, commercial, and industrial squares would cause problems. Except here they can’t just select the bulldozer. I don’t know how to classify a bitcoin mining farm (agricultural 🤔 ) but it seems different than a school, which also is ambiguous (to me).
Heavy industrial sounds right. I worked at a place as a mechanic that was zoned that way, but in an otherwise residential zone, and the owner was very cautious about being a butt after hours. Their opinion was that just because we could didn’t mean we should. Unlike this bitcoin deal.

I feel like heavy industrial would be better because of the noise pollution.
