I see lots of app recommendations, but is there any way to do this on desktop? I really don’t want to have to click on each post, but I’m tired of getting the same stuff over and over again.
Voyager is available as a PWA
Eternity can do this.
Boost for Lemmy does this.
Not well In my experience.
Another option if you want: Sync for Lemmy.
Only if you have a very old Lemmy instance.
Sync is broken in this regard, it doesn’t permanently hide posts anymore.

Actually this feature is a requirement to me (as well as a button/shortcut to hid said read posts) so if a Lemmy client does not have it I just won’t use it (reason number 1 why I stopped using Sync for Lemmy, it has been broken for months now).
Voyager does that.
