I keep seeing the Bernardin brand online and in stores.

Despite marketing themselves as “Canada’s trusted leader in mason jars… for over 100 years.”, I was surprised to see that they are actually made in the states.

Are there any canning jars still made in Canada?

I’ve looked on kijiji, and yeah, some jars are like 4x more expensive than new.

I’ll check out a few thrift stores, though 👍

I’ve had decent luck wandering through thrift shops but even then, they’re still close to or slightly more expensive than new.

As long as money stays out of American hands, I’m happy to pay more. I’ll take a look the next time I’m out.

They don’t exist anymore and haven’t for some time. It’s all one manufacturer now for all brands. I suggest buying used. Or keeping your pasta and pickle jars.

They aren’t canadian but could you use kilners or pearl jars? They are UK and DE made respectively. Nice quality as well

Beautiful jars! I’d go for NotAmerican jars! Canadian would have been nice, if they were still being made.
