    Capaldi wasn’t a companion, but he was a character in the show who traveled in the Tardis when the Doctor saved him and his family from Pompeii, and they did make it a plot point (that was then promptly forgotten).

      If I’m not mistaken, it was a plot point with Capaldi that the regenerated forms are/can be modeled after others? I believe he subconsciously chose that form as a sort of reminder to himself. I can imagine the same sort of logic with Rose.

        Yeah, he kept asking himself “why this face” like he was subconsciously trying to tell himself something. But then they just dropped the whole plot thread and didn’t bring it up again.

        The tough part with Billie Piper is that she would be the Doctor, but not Rose. She’d have to act like the Doctor, and that would be strange. Like the DoctorDonna, shit got confusing.

          It did get an answer in the Ashildr episode (I loved that scene), and that started him on another cycle of saying screw the rules I’m above the law, which (clunkily) led to the hybrid prophecy resolution.
