I think it’s fairly confusing as it is, so asking “wait what?” or “haha wdym” invites them to clarify their intention, without sounding like you’re interrogating them.
But I’m autistic who’s pretty good at masking and has issues with other people’s perception of me, so take it with a grain of salt.
If going for the masky route I’d definitely lean towards “haha wdym” as a much safer option than “wait what?” — it’s got polite laughter and some texting slang to convey informality.
Ideally one shouldn’t have to mask with siblings though, so the more honest route is probably just saying something like “I’m not sure how to interpret this (I am autism baby)”
