AliExpress now has a lot of split keyboards. Many of them pre-built, or don’t require soldering (just insert your switches in hot swap holes). With your budget you can order almost anything.

I think Corne is simplest option, looks and feels almost like traditional keyboard. I have similar right now.

My personal top option is Charybdis, I will move to it next year. But this is more than just keyboard, but also trackball. So doesn’t fit into “first split” criteria (if you isn’t brave enough)

I have exactly same question, BUT I don’t want to replace a light switch with one that have different look and won’t fit in a frame anyway. And also don’t want to install a bypass on a light bulb.

I my opinion a better option is to install the relay near the bulb. And battery-powered light switch in the box under the original mechanical light switch. That can read a change in mechanical switch and sends a signal to the hub/relay.

Do I have any option? May be even a pcb option, if there’s ready firmware.

I looked at this, but I’m not sure that center of mass is shifted toward handle in kobo. While it’s obvious for Oasis. If true, that will be cool.

Except for being locked down, the amazon kindle is great device. Mine is 12 years old (1st gen Paperwhite) and I’m happy with it. And the form factor of their Kindle Oasis with asymmetric center of mass makes me want it more than any other device. Never tried it though. Are there alternatives for Oasis to use reader with one hand?
